Now What?

Estrangement.  Abandonment.


It hits you like a crushing wave, knocking you off your foundation, searching for answers.

First, it may be small comfort to know you're not alone . . . but here are a few suggestions to help you in your search for understanding:

  • Don't panic.  Take a deep breaths and long walks.

  • Inform yourself.  Read all you can about estrangement from others who have walked this road before you.

  • Find support.  Confiding in a close friend or joining specialized social media groups may help.

  • See a trauma therapist. A professional counselor specialized in trauma can help you work through your feelings and help you move forward one day at a time.
